Beaufort Wine & Food Weekend

Posted by Lauren Eberle on 20 April 2011

Beaufort was our featured city for the March/April issue of SavorNC. Each spring the town rolls out the welcome mat for the Beaufort Wine & Food Weekend. This year’s event takes place April 27th through May 1st. Here are the many reasons why the trip is worth the drive, as written by the folks at North Carolina’s Crystal Coast:

“The seventh annual Beaufort Wine & Food Weekend is sure to leave a lasting impression on those yearning for a weekend filled with exquisite dining and wine drinking. Located on the Crystal Coast — North Carolina’s Southern Outer Banks, the historic town of Beaufort is sure to welcome all with warmth and excitement during this event lasting April 27-May 1, 2011.

Throughout the weekend visitors engage in multiple activities ranging from wine tasting, to fashion shows and silent auctions and have the opportunity to meet celebrity chefs and vineyard owners.

Beaufort Wine & Food Weekend provides the opportunity to dine on foods prepared by some of the best chefs. Culinary connoisseurs have the chance to taste some of the freshest local foods with “fresh from the docks” seafood. The food is sure to leave a lasting impression, providing health and taste benefits by eating and supporting the local foods.

The town of Beaufort offers historic charm and quaint elegance and provides the opportunity to visit some of these great sites. Guests can attend a wine tasting and cooking event in historic homes or stay in some of the town’s classic inns, mansions and seaside cottages. There is a large amount of history to be seen in the 300-year-old town, once home to Blackbeard.

The Crystal Coast is sure to provide great memories with all the character and life it has to offer. The island gems offer 85 miles of silken coastline and untouched beaches to help relax in the moment. Watch the breathtaking sunsets that reflect off the shimmering night waters to the sunrise in the mornings illuminating the blue waves. Indulge in the local foods that are said to be the best coastal cuisine and sip wines brought by wine enthusiasts.”
